CR17
Cardiff Racing CR17
CR17 was Cardiff Racing's car built for Formula Student and competed in FSUK in 2021 finishing 4th overall. CR17 was a revolution for Cardiff Racing as it was the first time we used under-body suspension. Due to the Covid Pandemic in 2021, CR17's aero package was largely based on CR15's aero package due to lack of time to design and build a new package before competition. The car performed perfectly through competition until an oil leak ruined our shot of a likely overall victory. CR17 was then used as a test car while CR18 was being built to test new components such as a new oil sump that would be used on CR18.
